DID YOU KNOW…
…during a motorcycle seasonal inspection, checking the tire tread depth and pressure is critical, as improper tire conditions can reduce traction on wet roads?
SEASONAL INSPECTION
Improve the overall operation and performance of your machine for the upcoming season. Pre-season inspection includes a fuel system, engine, oil, exhaust, and battery check. Your vehicle will leave in peak performance operation with a clean air filter and everything it needs for the season.
A motorcycle pre-season inspection service is typically offered by motorcycle repair shops and dealerships before the start of the riding season to ensure that the motorcycle is in proper working condition and safe to ride. Here are some of the steps that may be included in a motorcycle pre-season inspection service:
-
Tires: The mechanic inspects the tires for wear, damage, or punctures and checks the tire pressure, adjusting it if needed.
-
Brakes: The mechanic inspects the brake system, including pads, rotors, calipers, and brake lines, checking for wear or damage and ensuring the brake fluid is at the correct level.
-
Suspension: The mechanic inspects the front and rear suspension, including shocks, forks, and swingarm, checking for leaks or wear and adjusting the suspension if needed.
-
Engine Oil: The mechanic inspects the oil, checking the color and level to ensure they are correct.
-
Electrical system: The mechanic checks the battery, charging system, and all electrical components, like lights and turn signals, to ensure they function properly.
-
Fluids: The mechanic checks all fluid levels, including engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid, topping them off if needed.
-
Final Drive: The mechanic inspects the chain and sprockets for wear or damage and adjusts the tension of the chain if needed.
-
Controls: The mechanic inspects the throttle, clutch, and brake controls to confirm they work properly and smoothly.
-
Road test: The mechanic runs a road-test on the motorcycle after the inspection to verify it runs smoothly and handles correctly.
** Fastback Moto will provide an estimate of recommended service, if the vehicle fails anything on our inspection checklist. **
By following a proper pre-season inspection service, the motorcycle can be prepared for the riding season, minimize the risk of breakdowns or accidents, and ensure a safe and enjoyable riding experience. It is recommended to have the motorcycle inspected before the start of every riding season.
